Keeping Active
Since historically maintainers have often vanished with no notice, the following formula should be applied:
- A report of no contact with a maintainer (especially a bouncing email addreess) is noted on the mailing lists or on IRC.
- A second attempt is to be made by a Fink developer, preferably on a different email address if known.
- Once four weeks have elapsed after the initial notification of an unresponsive maintainer, their packages are fair game to be taken over, turned over to fink-devel, etc.
